St. Monica Catholic School enriches each student's educational journey with a robust Catholic Classical Liberal Arts Education curriculum. At each level, we introduce appropriate material in a logical sequence, study it across multiple subjects, and return to the concept often as we build on our learnings. We are an ambitious and supportive Preschool 12 faith-based community where we encourage students to challenge themselves, mentor others, and prepare to lead, while keeping Christ at the center of everything we do.
St. Monica School is seeking a full-time PreK Instructional Aide to join our early learning team for the 2026 2027 school year. This position will work closely with the PreK classroom teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, engaging, and faith-filled environment for our youngest learners.
The ideal candidate is warm, energetic, patient, dependable, and genuinely enjoys working with young children. The PreK aide will be an active member of the classroom community, supporting instruction, student development, classroom routines, supervision, and the daily operations of the PreK program.
Position Responsibilities
The PreK Instructional Aide will:
โ€ข Support the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lessons, activities, and routines.
โ€ข Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce academic, social, emotional, and developmental skills.
โ€ข Assist students as they develop independence, self-regulation, responsibility, and positive relationships with peers.
โ€ข Support classroom management and reinforce positive behavior expectations.
โ€ข Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, transitions, lunch, and other school activities.
โ€ข Assist with arrival, dismissal, bathroom routines, handwashing, meals, and other daily care needs as appropriate.
โ€ข Prepare instructional materials and help maintain an organized, clean, welcoming, and safe classroom environment.
โ€ข Work collaboratively with the PreK teacher, specialists, administrators, and other school staff.
โ€ข Support the integration of Catholic faith and values into the daily life of the classroom.
โ€ข Complete other duties related to the PreK program and school operations as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will:
โ€ข Have experience working with young children; experience in a preschool, PreK, childcare, or elementary school setting is preferred.
โ€ข Demonstrate patience, warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine appreciation for young children.
โ€ข Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Be dependable, flexible, collaborative, and willing to be an active member of a school team.
โ€ข Support the mission and values of Catholic education and be willing to participate in the faith life of the school.
โ€ข Meet applicable Archdiocese of Seattle and Washington State requirements for employment in an early learning setting.
Pre-Employment & Training Requirements
Candidates will be expected to complete applicable Archdiocese of Seattle and Washington State requirements, which may include:

โ€ข CPR and First Aid certification
โ€ข Bloodborne Pathogens training
โ€ข Food Handler Permit, as applicable
โ€ข Other required early learning training and professional development
Hours & Schedule
This is a full-time position following the St. Monica School calendar and daily schedule. The position will primarily support the PreK program during the school day, with additional responsibilities before or after the core PreK instructional day as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $41,000-$52,000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
A comprehensive package of benefits is offered including two medical plan options, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation, and holidays.

Compensation will be determined based on internal equity, relevant experience, education, and qualifications.
