Skylight Fabricator / Installer


Job Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, the Fabricator / Installer is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of custom skylights, architectural plastic products, and related building components for residential and commercial customers.


This hands-on role combines precision manufacturing with field installation, requiring strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer service. During the construction season, the role is primarily focused on installation activities, while the winter months emphasize fabrication and production within the manufacturing facility.


The successful candidate enjoys working both indoors and outdoors, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and is committed to maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities


Fabrication & Manufacturing

  • Fabricate custom skylights, plastic products, and related components to specification.
  • Read and interpret drawings, work orders, and fabrication instructions.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and production machinery.
  • Welding aluminum and some steel (acetylene).
  • Assist with aluminum fabrication, assembly, finishing, and quality control activities.
  • Work with plastics and specialized heating equipment, including ovens, to manufacture custom products.
  • Support continuous improvement of fabrication processes, quality, and efficiency.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.

Installation

  • Install residential and commercial skylights and related products in accordance with company quality standards.
  • Perform site preparation, measurements, product adjustments, and final installation.
  • Work safely at heights, including rooftops and elevated work areas.
  • Ensure installations are completed professionally and efficiently while minimizing disruption to customers.
  • Identify and communicate any site conditions that may impact installation quality or safety.
  • Represent the company professionally while working at customer locations.

Customer Service

  • Build positive relationships with customers through professional communication and workmanship.
  • Respond to customer questions in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Take pride in delivering projects that exceed customer expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Fall Protection / Fall Arrest certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
