The Maintenance Technician - responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of all plant production and service equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, steam, water, and air, perform building maintenance or repair.

Pay Rate: $38.27Shift schedule: 3p-3a, four on - four off
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
  • Able to work safely around electrical and other Industrial equipment

  • Able to work on wide electrical power systems, working with AC voltages ranging from, but not limited to 120/240, 277/480, and DC voltages. This includes performing work on AC and DC motor controls
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair on all Mill equipment with the aid of blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions as directed by Maintenance or Mill Supervision.
  • Perform troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Work with all hand tools and power tools associated with standard mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks and understands the use of basic preventative maintenance tools.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot level, flow, and pressure control instrumentation
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Working with computer and systems - PLC & DCS ladder logic
  • Work with Pneumatics
  • Perform work on tubing and hose systems
  • Perform pipefitting and plumbing work on all types of pipes, valves, and fixtures.
  • Perform rough carpentry work as required.

  • Laser align equipment, rebuild pumps, change machine bearings, operate cutting torch, weld plate and pipe, safely troubleshoot and repair hydraulic components, etc.
  • Operate equipment such as hoists, cranes, fork-lifts, etc. to perform rigging and installation tasks

  • Diligently practice good safety and housekeeping techniques in accordance with the Shop Rules from time-to-time job requirements will entail additional duties as assigned by Supervision.

  • May be assigned to various jobs for training purposes at any time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
  • Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Maintenance experience

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Journeyman Certificate preferred
  • 4 years Mechanical or Electrical Apprenticeship preferred
  • 4 years of experience as a multi-specialty mechanic

  • Must be able to read and interpret information sheets

SPECIFIC SKILLS:
  • Electrical troubleshooting and performing electrical
  • Industrial Rigging
  • Applied mathematics
  • Measurements/Layouts
  • Welding and Cutting principles & practices
  • Use of portable hand tools
  • Understanding operations of pumps, motor alignment, dial feeler gauge, laser

  • Job requires working around production equipment while it is in operation and requires climbing ladders and working from girders and scaffolding
  • Job requires exposure to weather, dirt, grease, fumes and heat
  • Must have knowledge of methods of rigging heavy equipment, which includes the use of chain blocks, rope blocks, slings, hitches and overhead cranes
