Description:

Southeast Elevator has immediate openings for an Installation Mechanic Apprentice. The Apprentice position provides great mentoring, training, and hands-on experience with installing and servicing home elevators. Successful Apprentices can be promoted within 12-18 months to a lead mechanic with a commensurate increase in responsibility and compensation during the program as well as after. This is the perfect opportunity to start your career in the Elevator trade.


What You’ll Do

During training, you will work alongside experienced mechanics to learn the installation and servicing of residential elevators and wheelchair lifts. As your skills grow, you’ll take on more responsibility and independence in the field.


After training, you will be able to:

  • Install residential elevators and wheelchair lifts
  • Work as part of a two-person installation team on job sites
  • Assist in training and mentoring new team members
  • Interface professionally with customers and general contractors
  • Demonstrate strong safety awareness and regulatory compliance
  • Develop knowledge of safety codes and industry standards
  • Multi-task with patience, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Operate basic computer equipment and mobile devices
  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working at heights and on ladders
  • Ability to lift up to 150 lbs
  • Experience using hand tools safely and properly
  • Prior elevator or construction experience preferred, but not required
  • Customer-oriented, motivated self-starter
  • Valid driver’s license required
