Job Overview

By-Tor Contracting Inc. is seeking motivated Apprentice Millwork Installers to join our growing field operations team. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in residential millwork and door installation. Apprentices will work directly alongside experienced Lead Installers, receiving hands-on training with the goal of progressing into an independent installer role within approximately one year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Installers with residential interior and exterior door installations
  • Learn proper measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing techniques
  • Prepare and maintain tools, materials, and work areas
  • Protect customer homes and maintain clean, organized job sites
  • Follow installation standards, safety procedures, and company guidelines
  • Communicate respectfully with homeowners and team members
  • Travel to job sites as required (per diem provided when applicable)
  • Demonstrate reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn


Qualifications

  • Some hands-on experience in construction, carpentry, or home improvement preferred (but not required)
  • Strong interest in learning a skilled trade and growing into an installer role
  • Positive attitude and ability to take direction from Lead Installers
  • Good communication and professionalism in customer-facing environments
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and working on job sites
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred
  • EPA Lead Certification a plus (training assistance provided if needed)
