Responsibilities

As an Installer IV, you are responsible for reading and interpreting the proper installation specifications for various construction projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

  • Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment
  • Design, identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding
  • Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders
  • Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) as a result of installation or engineering activities
  • Have familiarity with specifications and drawings required to assemble and integrate telco transmission equipment into a Central Office environment
  • Have the ability to utilize hand tools required for the installation of transmission equipment, including crimpers, wire wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, hammers, drills, stencils, etc.
  • Inventory and transport tools/materials as required to the job site
  • Act in a supervisory manner and provide direction to lower-level installers on individual job progress, material shortages, customer complaints, and unsafe or inoperable tools
  • Have familiarity with customer installation and quality standards, including IP72202
  • Provide for self-quality check of all portions of the job responsible before sign off
  • Assemble, modify, and install overhead ironwork, relay racks, transmission equipment, and cable ladder
  • Run power, signal, and ground cables to interconnect equipment
  • Stencil installed equipment and terminations
  • Establish and maintain a professional rapport with customers, supervisors, and co-workers
  • Maintain and provide accurate departmental paperwork as requested
  • Know all safety and security requirements and follow them implicitly; assist in maintaining a safe and hazard-free work area
  • Dress appropriately for the job environment
  • Must be proficient in all phases of installation and testing of equipment to provide for progression in the business
  • Review installation specifications
