Job description

Role Description:
The primary role of the Project Manager is to provide technical support and project coordination for mid-sized capital, strategic, and efficiency projects/initiatives. To develop project cost estimates and schedules, design solutions for facility and equipment projects, manage assigned projects to successful completion, and complete work at or under budget. In addition, the Project Manager will provide support to help plants meet OEE and spoilage targets as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate and manage capital projects from project approval to project close
  • Responsible for managing safety (EH&S) on all projects.
  • May supervise project engineers and support Sr. Project Managers on larger Capex projects as needed.
  • Work with AutoCAD drawings as needed. Ability to create, edit, and update is preferred.
  • Support plants on facility project needs (may include civil, electrical, and mechanical areas), problem solving, support systems and provide technical guidance as needed.
  • Support development and provide detailed technical specifications for RFQ/RFP related to equipment and conveying purchases and installations
  • Participate in development of project cost estimates for capital approval request (CAR) submittal.
  • SAP documents management i.e. drawings, project cost reporting
  • Work with procurement to issue and manage purchase orders and goods receipts.
  • May generate AutoCAD drawings for project cost estimating and implementation
  • Work with suppliers on scope, estimates, quotes, planning and execution.
  • Communicate effectively with other functional areas, plant operations teams, vendors and contractors.
  • Communicate project status to all business stakeholders as required
  • Manage projects on sites or plants that will run on a 24/7 basis, manage vendors and contractors, and work with plant teams to ensure work is done safely, on time, within budget, and meeting the project objectives.
  • Ensure plants have what they need to successfully operate and meet their objectives once project is complete.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 5-10 years' work experience in engineering and/or high-speed manufacturing (can and/or end making/packaging) preferred
  • Experience leading and/or successfully completing projects
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of calendar year (mostly domestic but may include some international travel)
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal/team skills
  • Knowledge of high-speed manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent analytical and mechanical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Project Management skills, experience using MS Project (or equivalent).
  • Preferred software experience: SAP, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

Salaried: The anticipated base annual salary range for this role is between $110,900 and $166,300 per year. This role is bonus eligible. The bonus incentive program is based on the company meeting or exceeding certain targets. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate and is only applicable for roles that are based out of Illinois. The final salary will be determined after considering relevant factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's qualifications, experience, and work location, where appropriate.
