The Vertical Operations Manager is accountable for the successful execution of delivery, installation, and lifecycle service activities within assigned verticals (Fleet, Rental, or Dealership). This role ensures sales commitments are executable by Operations and delivered to customers reliably and efficiently within defined SLAs.
A day in the life and how you'll make an impact:
  • Operational Accountability: Ensure the successful execution of delivery, installation, and lifecycle service activities within assigned verticals (Fleet, Rental, or Dealership). This includes delivering installations on time, maintaining SLA compliance, scaling delivery capacity, and achieving target costs.
  • Delivery & Support Ownership: Oversee all aspects of planning, resource allocation, safety compliance, and quality for installations, maintenance activities. Ensure installation targets are met: 2 days for Rental/Dealership installations and 4 days for Fleet installations. Ensure that maintenance (support visits) have a clear scope of work to complete on time, with a first time right approach.
  • Sales-Operations Interface: Act as the operational counterpart to the Sales and Implementation teams. This involves confirming the feasibility of sales commitments, identifying associated risks, and translating those commitments into concrete, executable operational plans.
  • Field Service Leadership: Manager Field Service Engineers and Service Operations Coordinators, focusing on achieving 80% utilization, ensuring technical readiness, and developing productive capacity planning.
  • Vendor Oversight: Manage installation partners and contractors. Responsibilities include continuously monitoring and evaluating vendor performance across key areas like cost, quality, and execution.
  • KPI & OKR Management: Proactively achieve critical operations metrics, including on-time delivery, first-time fix rates, and target cost per install, by implementing proactive corrective actions.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience leading field operations, service delivery, or technical operations teams.
  • Experience managing distributed Field Service Engineers (FSEs) or technical field teams.
  • Experience in the automotive, fleet, rental, dealership, or a similar operational environment.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across Sales, Customer Success, Implementation, and Operations.
  • Experience with capacity planning, resource allocation, and operational forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and operational performance metrics.
  • Experience managing high-volume deployment, installation, or field service projects.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, contractors, and installation partners.
  • Proficiency with ERP, CRM, or Field Service Management (FSM) systems to manage operations and drive performance.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills with the ability to make operational decisions using metrics.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and escalation management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other project management certifications are a plus.
  • Travel to on-site locations based on business flow.

Compensation:
UVeye provides salary ranges that comply with the New Jersey State Law on salary transparency in job advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, skills, location, education, and operational needs. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentives or other forms of compensation or benefits. The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000. In addition, this position is also eligible for Bonus.
Physical Requirements:
This role may involve on-site or field-based activities. Depending on the position, tasks may include extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking; working in and around vehicle service areas, rental facilities, dealerships, manufacturing sites, or warehouse environments; and performing occasional manual tasks such as lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs, bending, or reaching. The role may also require travel, working in varying environmental conditions, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate.
