We are representing a highly respected mechanical Our client in the Southeast that is expanding its retrofit and commercial services division.
The Role
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Retrofit Superintendent to lead field execution of commercial retrofit and service-driven projects across the region. This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanical leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands commercial HVAC and mechanical systems, and excels at coordinating teams, schedules, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality results. The Mechanical Retrofit Superintendent will serve as the operational leader responsible for transforming awarded projects into successful, on-site execution.
Core Responsibilities
- Field Leadership: Oversee day-to-day field operations for commercial mechanical retrofit and service projects.
- Crew Management: Direct crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Execution Accuracy: Interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to drive accurate execution.
- Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules for retrofit and small commercial projects.
- Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, service teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project flow.
- Project Management: Manage multiple concurrent projects with varying timelines and scopes.
- Safety Standards: Enforce company safety standards and jobsite compliance.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure workmanship meets quality standards and contractual requirements.
- Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections and resolve field issues proactively.
- Client Contact: Serve as a key point of contact on-site for clients and internal teams.
- Relationship Management: Maintain strong working relationships with technicians, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and field efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement within the retrofit division.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: 5-10+ years of experience in commercial mechanical construction, HVAC, or retrofit environments.
- Leadership Roles: Proven experience as a Superintendent, Lead Foreman, or Senior Field Supervisor.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial mechanical systems, retrofit installations, and service operations.
Qualifications
- Project Experience: Experience in commercial retrofit, renovation, or service-driven projects.
- Project Management: Ability to manage small to mid-sized projects simultaneously.
- Safety Certification: OSHA certification or equivalent safety training (preferred).
