Job description

Pipelayer, Water & Sewer Infrastructure

Ottawa, ON | Taggart Construction Limited

Taggart Construction Limited is looking for a skilled Water and Sewer Pipe Layer to join our field team on underground servicing projects across the Ottawa region.

For more than 75 years, Taggart Construction has helped build the essential infrastructure that supports communities across Eastern Ontario. As part of the Taggart Group, we offer the stability of a long-standing, family-owned business with the opportunity to do hands-on work that makes a lasting impact.

In this role, you will work closely with the Foreperson and crew to install sanitary, storm, and watermain systems safely, accurately, and efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in precise work, enjoys being part of a strong field crew, and is ready to contribute to major civil construction projects in the region.

What you’ll do:

  • Install sanitary and storm sewer structures, catch basins, manholes, watermain, and pipe systems.
  • Help move, align, grade, and level concrete and plastic pipe using levels, lasers, hand tools, and tamping equipment.
  • Prepare trench bases, check grades, seal pipe, and support safe, accurate installation from start to finish.
  • Work closely with the Foreman, deckhand, shovel operator, and crew to keep work moving safely and efficiently.

What you bring:

  • 2–4 years of experience in sewer and water installation, with underground pipe laying experience required.
  • Comfort working outdoors in all seasons, in trenches, and around active heavy civil construction sites.
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and a safety-first mindset.
  • Working at Heights certification is considered an asset.

Compensation: $40.18 - $41.71/hr based on experience.

If you are a hands-on pipe layer who takes pride in building essential infrastructure safely and accurately, we would like to hear from you.
