FIREPLACE INSTALLATION AND SERVICE TECHNICIAN TRAINEE

Black Swan Hearth & Home  |  Newtown, Connecticut

Build a skilled trade career working with fireplaces, stoves, venting, gas systems, and home construction.

Black Swan Hearth & Home is a family owned fireplace, stove, hearth, and outdoor living company serving western Connecticut since 1979. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined person who wants to learn a specialized trade and grow into a skilled installer or service technician.
Fireplace experience is not required. We provide paid, hands on training.

This is a full time position working alongside experienced technicians in customers' homes throughout western Connecticut. Every project is different, and you will learn how gas, wood, pellet, and electric fireplaces and stoves are installed, maintained, and repaired.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

Assist with fireplace, stove, and insert installations
Help install venting, framing, hearth components, and finishing materials
Assist with service calls, cleanings, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Safely use hand tools and power tools
Carry and move tools, venting, equipment, and fireplace components
Protect customers' homes and keep work areas clean
Maintain trucks, tools, and equipment
Learn manufacturer requirements, safety standards, and building codes
Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
