Job description

LB Homes is looking for a qualified Maintenance Assistant.

Hours: 30 hours per week (60 hours per pay period); every other weekend plus on call rotation.

Rate: $19.00 to $23.00 per hour depending upon experience

Must have a current and valid Driver's License.

POSITION SUMMARY

Duties involve general maintenance tasks as well as grounds work including weeding, spraying, watering, snow removal, shoveling, etc. Position is responsible for taking care of garbage, locking and unlocking doors, general cleaning and maintenance, and for performing work to keep facility and buildings in good condition. Other duties may involve routine maintenance and repair of electrical or mechanical equipment, installing and assembling equipment, painting, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining all aspects of the buildings and grounds. In addition, position is responsible for transporting residents to and from events, appointments, etc. using the company vehicle as needed.

  • Follow schedule of assignments.
  • Collect repair requests and respond promptly.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand and power tools and reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Clean carpets.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
  • As authorized, order parts, supplies and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
  • Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall and other parts of building structures.
  • Maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery found in kitchens, laundries, healthcare facilities and offices.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches to precision measuring instruments.
  • Remove snow using power equipment or shovels.
  • Collect trash from work areas and transport to collection sites.
  • Deliver supplies to work areas.
  • Assist with transport of resident equipment and belongings during room change.
  • Assist with transport of residents to and from appointments.
  • Grounds maintenance as assigned.
