Chiller Systems Service, LLC is seeking an HVAC Installation Technician to support commercial and industrial customers in and around the Denver, CO area.
Role Summary:
The Commercial HVAC Installation Technician is responsible for the installation and replacement of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in retail, grocery, industrial, and institutional facilities. This role supports new construction, remodels, and large-scale equipment upgrades, ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with mechanical codes, project specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
This role focuses exclusively on commercial and industrial HVAC systems - no restaurant work.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Install commercial HVAC equipment including rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, packaged units, exhaust fans, and make-up air units
• Assist with rigging, setting, leveling, and securing HVAC equipment using proper lifting methods and tools
• Install sheet metal ductwork, supports, hangers, insulation, and related mechanical components
• Install refrigerant piping, condensate piping, and associated mechanical connections as required
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, HVAC blueprints, and installation plans
• Perform system change-outs, retrofits, and mechanical upgrades in active commercial facilities
• Coordinate daily work activities with foremen, superintendents, and other trades on site
• Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, mechanical codes, and company quality standards
• Identify material needs and communicate shortages, conflicts, or delays to project leadership
• Maintain productivity while meeting quality and schedule expectations
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
• Properly use, care for, and maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles
• Participate in jobsite safety meetings and follow all safety policies and procedures
• Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner to protect employees, subcontractors, and the public
Skills and Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and installation practices
• Experience installing large tonnage HVAC equipment and duct systems
• Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings and HVAC blueprints
• Familiarity with sheet metal, piping, and mechanical installation methods
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in active construction environments
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Problem-solving mindset in fast-paced commercial job sites
Preferred Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience
• EPA 608 Certification
• HVAC technical school or trade school coursework
• Experience working on retail, grocery, industrial, or institutional HVAC projects
• Valid driver's license
