Job description

Summary

Responsible for assisting with the installation of fire sprinkler systems on construction and retrofit projects; this is an entry-level role supporting foremen and fitters by performing basic labor tasks while learning fire sprinkler installation techniques, safety practices, and code requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist fire sprinkler installers with system installation activities.
  • Carry, stage, and organize materials, pipe, fittings, and tools.
  • Cut, thread, and prep pipe under supervision.
  • Assist with hanging pipe, installing hangers, and setting sprinkler heads.
  • Support flushing, pressure testing, and system startup activities.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Participate in safety meetings and on-the-job training.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma and 0-2 years’ experience; construction or mechanical experience a plus.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills, email.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, crouching/bending, climbing ladders, and working at heights; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; ability to work in confined spaces and variable weather conditions; exposure to noise, dust, and construction environments.
