Located in our Springfield, IL facility and reporting to the Service Manager, the HVAC/R Service Technician will service, install, maintain, air conditioning & refrigeration systems. Applied HVAC/R Technician performs tests and analysis of data to ensure the proper functioning of equipment and provide recommendations to customers as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot the condition of operating equipment and controls to ensure continued proper & safe operation.
  • Perform routine repairs.
  • Inspect and test systems operations.
  • Determine customer concerns with their current applied HVAC/R systems.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
  • Discuss mechanical malfunctions with customers.
  • Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
  • Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricate parts, or changing filters.
  • Assist with other work in coordination with repair and maintenance teams.
  • Install, connect components related to our industry.
  • Generate work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction.
  • Assemble, position, install HVAC equipment, following blueprints.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of HVAC level at maintenance & repair experience in the HVAC/R and refrigeration trade.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot condition of operating equipment and controls to ensure continued proper & safe operation.
  • Perform routine repairs.
  • Inspect and test systems operations.
  • Determine customer concerns with their current applied HVAC/R systems.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.

Physical Demands

This position is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
