Job description

Instagram Home is seeking a senior product designer to lead the IG Cross-Meta Growth Area. This role is responsible for developing innovative, systematic design solutions that ensure Instagram remains simple and high-craft as we help grow existing and new apps such as Instants, Threads, MetaAI, new 0 →1 efforts, and more. The charter of the IG Cross-Meta Growth team is to create holistic solutions that support cross-app growth on Instagram and to develop and uphold principles that uphold simplicity and quality of the Instagram experience. The scope of this work spans all key Instagram surfaces such as feed, reels, stories and profile.
Product Designer, Instagram Cross-Meta Growth Responsibilities:
  • Partner directly with leads to develop strategy for the Area, make decisions, and communicate directly with Instagram leadership
  • Lead the development and expansion of Instagram design/user experience principles, patterns, and guidelines that will apply broadly across all of Meta
  • Innovate, influence, and collaborate to create holistic solutions that support cross-app growth on Instagram
  • Build bridges across Instagram, Meta and 0-1 efforts that drive top-level outcomes
  • Communicate principles and decisions directly with Instagram leadership

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of experience designing and shipping consumer-facing design systems or products at company-wide scale, leading end-to-end design within large-scale, highly ambiguous domains
  • Experience defining and driving design strategy and roadmap across multiple product areas, with demonstrated impact on organizational milestones and goals
  • Interaction and visual design expertise including typography, layout, color, iconography, and mobile and desktop UI, with a track record of evolving complex visual, interaction and motion systems and raising quality standards across teams
  • Experience prototyping complex product visions using appropriate tools, including AI-integrated prototypes, to influence product strategy and executive decision-making
  • Experience communicating design strategy and decisions to executive and cross-functional stakeholders, driving alignment across large organizations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing, shipping, and evolving design systems across multiple form factors
  • and ensuring adoption across multiple product teams or organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging technologies and enable their effective integration into design practice across a large team or organization
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience building and iterating on AI-powered product experiences, including prototyping with live AI models and shaping model behavior through prompt engineering and feedback loops
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Track record of redesigning design workflows using AI tools to deliver measurable efficiency gains and quality improvements at organizational scale
