What are Instagram internships?

Instagram internships are temporary positions offered by Instagram, often through its parent company Meta, for students or recent graduates who want to gain hands-on experience in fields like software engineering, design, product management, and marketing. These internships typically last for a few months during the summer or academic year and provide interns with mentorship, real-world projects, and opportunities to network with professionals. Interns at Instagram work on meaningful tasks that contribute to the platform's development and user experience, and they often receive competitive compensation and benefits. The internships are highly competitive and can be a stepping stone to full-time employment at Meta or other tech companies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Instagram Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Instagram Intern, you generally need a background in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field, along with a strong understanding of social media trends. Familiarity with tools like Instagram Insights, content creation platforms (such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite), and basic analytics is highly valued. Creativity, adaptability, and effective communication skills help interns contribute fresh ideas and collaborate with diverse teams. These skills are crucial for driving engagement, supporting brand messaging, and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic digital environment.

What types of projects do Instagram interns typically work on, and how is their work integrated into the broader team?

Instagram interns often contribute to real product features, user experience improvements, or data analysis projects, depending on their area of study and expertise. They collaborate closely with full-time engineers, designers, and product managers, participating in team meetings and code reviews. Interns are encouraged to share ideas, take ownership of tasks, and seek mentorship throughout their internship, ensuring their work has tangible impact and aligns with the platform's goals. This hands-on experience helps interns develop industry-relevant skills and understand how cross-functional teams operate at a large tech company.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

High-paying jobs that can pay around $4,000 a week without a degree include roles such as freelance digital marketers, sales representatives, or skilled trades like electricians and plumbers. These positions often require specialized skills, certifications, or experience, and may involve self-employment or commission-based pay structures.

Job description

Title: Instagram Growth Specialist Intern - Skyhawks Sports (Treasure Valley)

We are looking for someone who lives on Instagram and wants to help thousands of Treasure Valley families discover Skyhawks Sports.
Skyhawks Sports is one of the fastest-growing youth sports organizations in the Boise metro. We operate across 7+ cities and serve thousands of kids every year. We need an Instagram Specialist who wants to own our organic growth on the platform where our families spend their time.

THE ROLE:
This internship is 100% focused on Instagram. You will own our page, our story strategy, our Reels calendar, and our community engagement. You will not be splitting focus across five platforms. You will go deep on one channel and make it grow.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Grow followers, reach, and engagement on our Instagram account.
  • Plan and publish Reels, carousels, and stories weekly.
  • Build a content calendar around our seasonal camps, classes, and leagues.
  • Engage daily with local Treasure Valley accounts (schools, parenting pages, family businesses) - This is priority!
  • Track performance metrics and iterate weekly on what is working.
  • Coordinate with our videographers to turn field footage into scroll-stopping Reels.
  • Contribute your creative voice to campaigns and program launches.
  • Collaborate with team to request footage needed for creative reels and upcoming events.

YOU'RE OUR PERSON IF:
  • You are currently enrolled in a college or university program (college credit preferred).
  • You genuinely understand Instagram in 2026 (not just posting, but growth mechanics).
  • You have grown a page before, even a personal one, and can show us the numbers.
  • You can manage your own time with 6 to 12 flexible hours per week.
  • You care about kids, families, and community.
  • You love to collaborate and engage with local accounts.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN:
  • College credit for an accredited internship experience.
  • Portfolio proof of running the Instagram presence for a real, active organization.
  • Full creative say in strategy and execution.
  • Mentorship from our leadership team.
  • Flexible hours around your class schedule.
  • A letter of recommendation for standout contributors.
  • The satisfaction of seeing your work reach thousands of families across the Treasure Valley.

DETAILS:
  • College credit.
  • 6 to 12 hours per week, flexible scheduling.
  • Local (Treasure Valley) preferred, remote considered.
  • Start date flexible.
  • Free or reduced program rates for intern's family.
  • Small stipend available, commensurate with experience and contribution.

TO APPLY, email boise@skyhawks.com with:
  • Your college and major.
  • Whether you can receive college credit.
  • Link to your Instagram or any page you have grown (with follower/engagement numbers).
  • One Reel or post you have created that you are proud of.
  • Why this role interests you specifically.
  • What is the most important thing in your life.
