Job description
Job Summary:
The Inspection Trainee, in Nisku, Alberta will assist Operators in the inspection and repair of used sucker rods and is responsible for handling, cleaning, and inspection of used sucker rods.
Qualification Requirements:
- High school education with the ability to read, write and speak a minimum amount of English to perform job duties
- Strong communication skills
- Standard First Aid training preferred
Technical Requirements:
- Previous sucker rod inspection experience is preferred but not required
- Standard First Aid training preferred
HSE Requirements:
- Work is performed in a shop and yard environment. Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and changes of temperature/humidity.
- Physical requirements: squatting, bending, reaching, twisting, lifting up to 23 kilograms, walking on rough ground, and working near moving equipment.
- Required to at all times wear proper protective clothing and equipment and perform duties in a safe manner.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting Operators in the utilization of CSR Inspection unit.
- Thread inspection
- Magnetic Particle Inspection
- Cleaning and repair of pipe threads
- Sorting and visual assessment of rods
- Removal and application of thread compounds
- Coupling removal and replacement
- Equipment set up and tear down
- Unit calibration
- Basic unit maintenance
- General housekeeping and shop cleanup
- Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety, and environmental requirements
- Participate in training programs as required by the company
- All other duties as assigned
