Job description

Position Summary

The Senior Source Inspection Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the PES Source Inspection Program to ensure supplier quality compliance and successful project execution across all divisions. This role will lead supplier surveillance activities, source inspection processes, vendor quality oversight, and coordination with project management, procurement, engineering, and construction teams.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in supplier quality management, source inspection, fabrication oversight, and quality systems within the energy, industrial, mechanical, civil, and power generation industries. This position requires a highly organized leader capable of building a scalable program from the ground up while supporting critical project schedules and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the PES Source Inspection Program, including procedures, standards, reporting structures, and execution strategies.
  • Establish supplier quality surveillance processes to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Manage source inspection activities for fabricated equipment, structural components, piping systems, rotating equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation, and specialty materials.
  • Coordinate inspections with suppliers, subcontractors, third-party inspection agencies, procurement teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Review purchase orders, inspection and test plans (ITPs), fabrication schedules, quality documentation, and manufacturing records.
  • Monitor supplier performance and identify quality risks impacting schedule, cost, or project execution.
  • Lead supplier audits, vendor evaluations, corrective action management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to inspectors and project quality personnel.
  • Develop KPI reporting and management metrics related to supplier quality and inspection performance.
  • Support client audits, project meetings, and quality reviews as required.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards including ASME, AWS, API, ISO, NEC, and client-specific requirements.
  • Travel to supplier facilities and project locations as necessary to support inspection activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in source inspection, supplier quality, fabrication quality, or quality management within industrial construction, power generation, oil & gas, or energy industries.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, NDE, pressure vessels, piping systems, structural steel, electrical equipment, and rotating equipment.
  • Experience developing and implementing supplier quality or source inspection programs.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards including ASME, API, AWS, ISO, and related industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQM, etc.)
  • NDE certifications
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
  • Experience supporting EPC or industrial construction projects

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel frequently to supplier and project locations.
  • Ability to perform field inspections in industrial and fabrication environments.
  • Ability to walk, climb, and access fabrication facilities and construction sites safely.
