Are you a current Atterbury Job Corps student looking to build real experience in safety and security while making a genuine difference for your fellow students? Our Security & Safety team keeps the Center a place where students can live, learn, and train with confidence. As an intern, you'll work alongside experienced security staff, learn how a Center-wide safety program actually runs, and help resolve - and prevent - the incidents that get in the way of student success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Support the Safety & Security Department in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming Center environment
  • Assist with accident and incident investigations, including documentation, reporting, and recommended corrective actions
  • Conduct safety inspections, security checks, and facility assessments to identify and address potential hazards
  • Support compliance with safety, health, security, and Center policies and procedures
  • Assist with emergency response, visitor control, student accountability, and daily security operations
  • Conduct routine security tours and support student monitoring, supervision, and positive behavior management
  • Assist with residential operations, including dorm inspections and safety-related activities as assigned
  • Maintain accurate records, protect student information, and follow all integrity and confidentiality guidelines
  • Complete assignments responsibly, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attendance and accountability standards
  • Apply job knowledge, continue developing skills, and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions
  • Model and promote Career Success Standards while serving as a positive role model and mentor for students
