Job description

Key Responsibilities

Team Supervision & Leadership

  • Directly manage a minimum of six depot employees.
  • Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training.
  • Assign daily tasks, evaluate performance, deliver feedback, and implement corrective actions.
  • Address employee concerns and escalate issues appropriately.

Operational & Administrative Oversight

  • Enforce NUCO2 policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the District Manager to monitor KPIs and safety compliance.
  • Review and approve timesheets; oversee payroll processing via UltiPro.

Driver & Fleet Management

  • Train and supervise drivers and technicians to ensure DOT Hours of Service compliance.
  • Conduct audits of vehicles, equipment, and facilities to meet OSHA, DOT, and NUCO2 standards.
  • Leverage fleet telematics and coordinate with Logistics to optimize routes and driver performance.

Quality Assurance & Field Oversight

  • Perform quality spot checks on equipment installations in the field to verify adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Observe and assess driver performance during field visits, ensuring safe driving behaviors and service excellence.
  • Provide immediate coaching, corrective feedback, and refresher training based on spot-check findings.

Safety Leadership

  • Lead monthly safety meetings to review incidents, share best practices, and reinforce protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety procedures to maintain a zero-incident environment.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and risk assessments, addressing hazards immediately.
  • Foster a safety-first culture through coaching, recognition, and ongoing training.

Communication & Reporting

  • Respond promptly and professionally to all internal and external correspondence.
  • Analyze operational reports to validate route completion, service productivity, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with Scheduling and Logistics to balance delivery and service workloads.

SOPs, Inventory & Supplier Coordination

  • Maintain accurate daily and monthly inventory records; submit product level readings to suppliers.
  • Oversee incoming deliveries and cycle counts using inventory management software.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize depot efficiency and service quality.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives aligned with NUCO2’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years in a supervisory or leadership role within logistics, distribution, or industrial operations.
  • Military applicants at paygrade E-5 or above meet the three-year supervisory experience requirement.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Class A or B CDL preferred but not required.
  • Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements preferred but not required.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Proficiency with UltiPro Payroll System, inventory control software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in industrial settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead safety programs and maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company standards.

Safety & Quality Expertise

  • Proven track record of conducting safety meetings and driving team engagement in safety initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices for hazard identification, risk mitigation, and incident investigation.
  • Experience conducting quality spot checks and field performance assessments with actionable follow-up.
