WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT DEPARTMENT?
The Community Engagement Department is Insomniac Events' bridge between our brands and our Headliners. We focus on building meaningful, positive, and memorable connections with our community across social platforms, on-site experiences, and digital touchpoints. Our team blends creativity, culture, and real-time feedback to ensure the Headliner voice is heard and reflected in how our events evolve, from pre-show hype to on-site moments and post-festival reflection.
The Community Engagement department works closely with Social, Marketing, Operations, and Production teams to enhance the overall Headliner journey and bring Insomniac's values to life at scale across festivals like EDC, Escape Halloween, Beyond Wonderland, and more.
THE ROLE
Insomniac Events is seeking a highly motivated and creative Community Engagement Intern to join our team in Calabasas. This role is designed for someone passionate about music culture, community-building, and digital storytelling. The intern will support the creative and experiential side of Community Engagement, helping ideate, execute, and document fun, engaging initiatives that elevate the Headliner experience. This is a paid internship and is not a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Community Engagement team in brainstorming and executing creative, Headliner-focused initiatives across Insomniac events
  • Assist with ideation for on-site activations, interactive moments, and community-driven experiences
  • Help track, organize, and analyze positive Headliner feedback, trends, and sentiment across social platforms
  • Contribute ideas for social-first engagement moments that reflect Insomniac's voice, values, and culture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Social, Marketing, Operations, Production) to ensure community insights are reflected in brand decisions
  • Assist with internal documentation, recaps, and post-event insights related to community engagement
  • Support project organization and creative workflows using tools like Asana or similar platforms
  • Act as a thoughtful observer of Headliner behavior and feedback, surfacing insights and ideas that enhance the overall festival experience

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 18 years of age and currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or trade school
  • Must be able to work onsite in the Calabasas, CA office at least 2 days per week
  • Typical commitment is 16-29 hours per week
  • Must be motivated with an "everything is possible" attitude
  • Must be an active problem solver with a strong sense of urgency for projects both large and small
  • Knowledge of dance music and Insomniac's brands is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Must be willing to travel to work during holidays, evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and drastic temperature climates while working on site at various event location
  • Must be able to work in open concept office space

The hourly pay rate for this role is $18.00 USD.
