1. Title of Job

Senior Engineer, Advanced Security, Professional Services Department

2. Description of Responsibilities

Analyze potential clients' needs, market trends, and industry demands to create customized services and solutions using available security-related products, technologies, and services.

Provide technical consultation, recommendations, and guidance to clients based on market insights, security best practices, and business requirements.

Manage both pre-sales and post-sales technical projects by coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and successful completion.

Conduct comprehensive security assessments for IIJ America's primary customers and design tailored security systems and processes.

Build, maintain, and upgrade security technologies such as log analysis tools, endpoint security, and network security solutions to ensure safe network operations and secure data transmission.

Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Departments to plan, coordinate, and implement the sales of new cybersecurity products and services.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex security issues across IT systems, including servers, networks, and telephony hardware/software. Provide 24/7 on-call support (not shift based) for critical incidents.

Manage and support existing customer accounts by resolving technical security issues promptly and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Lead and mentor junior engineers and team members during project execution, troubleshooting, and daily operations.

Maintain thorough records of system installations, configurations, troubleshooting actions, and overall project progress. Provide regular updates to project leaders and management.

Conduct product research and analyze market trends. Prepare detailed proposals, quotations, and supporting documentation as needed.

Promote cybersecurity awareness through seminars, blogs, and external publications, enhancing IIJ America's presence and reputation.

Scope customer engagements effectively and build strong, strategic relationships to support clients in developing secure IT infrastructures.

Must be adaptable to evolving technologies to deliver tailored IT security solutions that meet customer requirements.


Experience and knowledge in the following areas are required:
Must be native level in Japanese, fluent in English.
Security software and solutions for servers and PCs Security tools such as SASE, EDR, and vulnerability check Managed Service Provider (MSP) and Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) operations

Secure configuration standards (e.g., CIS Benchmarks) Microsoft, Citrix, VMware and other major software vendor's products.
Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto and other major network vendor's devices.

Operation and maintenance of Unix/Linux and Windows servers

Local and Wide Area Network technologies

Virtualization and storage technologies

3. Reporting

This position reports to the Manger or General Manager, Professional Services department. Others will be designated by President & CEO if necessary.
