Job description

Security Officer

The Security Officer position is responsible for protecting personnel, assets, and interests throughout the Company's footprint. This position employs armed physical security tactics, screenings, highly technical security event monitoring and security event response.

This position is located in Atlanta, GA. No relocation assistance is being offered for this role.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/associate degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Training certification reflecting their knowledge of the business practices required by the industry standards.
  • Must be available to work shift work, holidays, overtime, during inclement weather, call out and able to work at designated Company location.
  • Shift hours: 6pm-6am
  • Minimum 3 years law enforcement, military, private or industrial security preferred
  • Law enforcement, military, armed private or armed industrial security experience preferred
  • Must pass the following job prerequisites: psychological test, drug test, firearms evaluation, and Insider Threat Program (for designated security positions).
  • Must qualify for firearm use and successfully re-qualify annually with the semi-auto pistol and/or shotgun/rifle.
  • Must qualify for and obtain a valid state firearm permit and driver's license.
  • Successful annual qualification with all companies issued firearms is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of Software House CCURE is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Avigilon Video Management System (VMS) Software is preferred.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, multiple functional computer formats (in-house), etc.
  • Ability to work and make decisions with minimal direct supervision within the prescribed policies and procedures.
  • Ability to respond to complex technical inquiries regarding access application systems.
  • Ability to have technical proficiency with access application systems functioning at an operator level proficiency.
  • Ability to coordinate and liaison with Operating Company and Corporate Security groups.
  • Must be willing to travel for training, storm duty, or any potential circumstances involving security.
  • Ability to evaluate and determine the appropriate action in response to Physical Security Perimeter (PSP) intrusion events.
  • Must be capable of using sound logic and reasoning to identify the alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals under highly stressful situations and perform various tasks simultaneously while working as a team.
  • Ability to actively listen.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Must be able to multi-task and perform computer data entry while callers are on the phone.
  • Ability to stay current with relevant technology.
  • Ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
  • Must demonstrate strong ethics and experience handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Ability to learn and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Ability to direct & control vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Ability to wear and maintain personal protection equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical activity, including but not limited to, running, walking, and lifting.
