What is an inside solution provider?

Inside Solution Providers are professionals who work within an organization, typically in sales, customer service, or technical support roles, to deliver tailored solutions to clients or customers. They analyze customer needs, recommend appropriate products or services, and coordinate with other teams to ensure successful implementation. Unlike field-based solution providers, they usually work from the company’s office or remotely, interacting with clients via phone, email, or online meetings. Their goal is to build strong client relationships and help solve business challenges through customized solutions.

How does an inside solution provider typically collaborate with sales and technical teams to deliver client solutions?

Inside Solution Providers often act as a central point of coordination between sales representatives, technical support, and clients. They work closely with sales teams to understand client requirements, recommend suitable products or services, and develop tailored solutions. Additionally, they liaise with technical teams to ensure feasibility, address technical questions, and facilitate smooth implementation. Effective communication and the ability to translate customer needs into actionable solutions are key to success in this collaborative environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an inside solution provider, and why are they important?

ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Description
Flow International Corporation, a Shape Technologies Group company, is a global leader in advanced cutting and forming solutions, including ultrahigh-pressure waterjet, fiber laser, and press brake technologies.
Building on decades of innovation and engineering expertise, Flow delivers solutions that help manufacturers and fabricators cut faster, form smarter, and achieve exceptional results. Committed to innovation, reliability, and unmatched customer support, Flow serves a wide range of industries worldwide.
What It's Like to Work Here
At Flow, we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and respect. We take on real manufacturing challenges, push technology forward, and hold ourselves to a high standard. Here, your ideas matter and your work make a measurable impact - on our products, our customers, and the industries we serve.

We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, life and disability insurance, education reimbursement, and global opportunities for career development.
Role Summary:
Flow is looking for a motivated, driven Inside Sales Representative to help unlock the full value of our lead database and generate new sales opportunities.
This role is focused on proactive outreach - identifying, engaging, and developing prospects into qualified opportunities. You'll spend your time researching accounts, reconnecting with dormant leads, following up on inbound interest, and initiating conversations that move prospects closer to purchase.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys making connections, learning from every interaction, and consistently finding new opportunities within existing and new data sources. You're comfortable reaching out to prospects across levels of an organization, asking thoughtful questions, and uncovering needs.
This role sits within marketing but works closely with sales and plays a critical role in building pipeline. Success in this position comes from strong outreach activity, quality conversations, and the ability to turn interest into real opportunities for the sales team. This position also offers a clear path for growth into a direct sales role for individuals who demonstrate strong performance and aptitude.
This role is based at Flow's Customer Technology Center (CTC), where prospects and customers experience our cutting-edge equipment firsthand. This individual will have the opportunity to work closely with our technology in a hands-on environment, support customer visits, and gain practical exposure to waterjet, laser, and press brake systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
  • Proactively engage prospects through outbound outreach, including calling, email, and targeted follow-up
  • Reactivate and develop existing leads within our database
  • Research target accounts and identify key contacts
  • Build credibility by learning Flow's product portfolio (waterjet, fiber laser, press brake)
  • Collaborate with sales to ensure smooth handoff of qualified leads
  • Continuously refine outreach messaging and approach based on results
  • Participate in and support in-person customer demonstrations, helping engage prospects, answer questions, and move opportunities forward
  • Act as the first point of contact for many of our potential customers
  • Track outreach activity and engagement to ensure visibility and follow-through

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL
Travel estimates at less than 5%.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Comfortable interacting directly with prospects and speaking about technical products (training will be provided)
  • Strong prospecting, follow-up, and lead qualification skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who can execute independently while contributing to process improvement over time
  • Mechanical or technical aptitude with an interest in industrial equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Curiosity and desire to understand how complex equipment works and how customers use it in real-world applications
  • Ability to identify opportunities within an existing database and convert leads into qualified pipeline
  • Persistent, proactive mindset with a desire to uncover and develop new opportunities
  • Interest in developing toward a more strategic or revenue-focused role in the future
  • Experience working in a CRM
  • Previous manufacturing and waterjet experience a plus
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field or relevant education and experience combined.
  • 2-5 years of experience in inside sales, business development, sales support, or marketing

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Base Compensation: $65,000- $75,000 and Commission-$10,000 a year
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) plan with company matching contributions
  • Paid time off (PTO) and disability insurance
  • Tuition reimbursement for approved educational programs
  • Ongoing career development and training opportunities
