Inside Sales Project Manager information

What is an inside sales project manager?

An Inside Sales Project Manager is a professional who oversees sales projects and coordinates teams from within the company, rather than meeting clients face-to-face. They manage sales processes, communicate with customers via phone, email, or virtual meetings, and ensure that project timelines and goals are met. Their responsibilities often include managing accounts, tracking project progress, collaborating with sales and operations teams, and providing customer support. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Inside Sales Project Managers are crucial in maintaining client satisfaction and driving sales growth through efficient project execution.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an inside sales project manager?

To thrive as an Inside Sales Project Manager, you need strong sales acumen, project management expertise, and typically a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM systems (like Salesforce), project management tools (such as Asana or Trello), and sales reporting software is essential. Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills set top performers apart in this role. These abilities enable seamless project execution, effective client engagement, and achievement of sales targets in a dynamic environment.

How does an inside sales project manager typically collaborate with other departments to ensure project success?

Inside Sales Project Managers frequently work cross-functionally, coordinating closely with sales representatives, account managers, and operations teams to align project goals with client expectations. They also communicate with marketing and product teams to stay updated on offerings and to tailor solutions for customers. Effective collaboration involves regular meetings, shared project management tools, and clear documentation to track progress and resolve challenges quickly. This teamwork-focused environment helps ensure smooth execution and fosters a supportive workplace culture.

Job description

Coordinate Projects. Build Relationships. Grow Your Career at Asahi/America.

What’s The Job?
Asahi/America is looking for a Sales Project Coordinator to join our Inside Sales team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a few years of project coordination, customer service, or inside sales experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. Working alongside our Sales Project Manager, you'll help coordinate customer projects from quotation through delivery, ensuring orders stay on track, customers stay informed, and projects are completed successfully.

What You Will Own.
You'll help keep customer projects moving by coordinating orders, monitoring schedules, tracking project milestones, and communicating with customers throughout the project lifecycle. You'll prepare project pricing, maintain reports and documentation, coordinate direct shipments, and work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Production Planning, Manufacturing, and Distribution to keep projects on schedule. You'll attend project meetings, follow up on action items, solve problems before they become customer issues, and continuously look for ways to improve project processes and reporting. Over time, you'll become a trusted resource for key customer accounts and serve as the backup to the Sales Project Manager.

What Separates You From The Rest.
You're organized, proactive, and enjoy bringing order to moving pieces. You have 2+ years of experience in project coordination, inside sales, customer service, order management, or a similar business support role, and you've likely managed multiple projects or customer requests at the same time. You communicate well with people at all levels, enjoy working in a team environment, and aren't afraid to take ownership of a project. Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems are a plus, while manufacturing or industrial experience will help you hit the ground running. Most importantly, you're looking for an opportunity to build your project management skills and grow your career.

Why You'll Love Working Here.
Industry-leading thermoplastic brand with decades of market credibility. Direct visibility and influence across sales, engineering, and manufacturing. Day-one benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability. 401(k) with generous company match — fully vested at hire. Continuing education reimbursement.

Quality products. Trusted partnerships. Proven success — that’s Asahi/America.

Compensation Transparency.
The pay range shown represents what we expect to offer in good faith for this role at the time of posting. The final offer will depend on several factors—such as education, experience, certifications, skills, performance, shift, location, and business needs. We review our ranges regularly to ensure fairness and market competitiveness.
