Practice Innovation Specialist
Cooley is seeking a Practice Innovation Specialist to join the Innovation team.
Position summary: As a leading technology law firm, Cooley is determined to become a leader in the digital practice of law. The Practice Innovation Specialist is an execution-oriented role that will support the rollout, adoption, and success of practice-facing technologies, ensuring that lawyers not only have the best tools, but actually use them to deliver exceptional client service. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position responsibilities:
  • Develop and run a structured, data-driven innovation adoption framework that consistently drives engagement, measurable value, and efficiency across practice groups
  • Contribute to innovation pilots, product launches, and go-to-market rollouts by drafting communications, creating user guides and training materials, tracking success metrics, and gathering user feedback through surveys and other proven channels
  • Partner closely with legal tech vendors and internal teams with tool configuration by documenting workflow requirements, testing new features, logging issues, and communicating user feedback to ensure tools meet the needs of lawyers and clients
  • Work hand-in-hand with Innovation Counsel and other teams to incubate ideas and scale winning solutions by supporting the execution and logistics of experiments, trials and pilots
  • Promote new products and features by creating digital resources, recording short-form instructional videos, assisting with demos and office hours, and helping develop scalable training materials for lawyer and encourage user adoption
  • Communicate with lawyers seeking guidance on practice-facing products, answering questions, directing users to appropriate resources. Escalate complex inquiries to Innovation Counsel or Product Support as needed
  • Develop compelling case studies and success stories to articulate ROI and adoption wins by gathering data from successful implementations, facilitating stakeholder interviews, drafting narratives, and coordinating with marketing and communications for review and publication
  • All other duties as assigned or required

Skills & experience:
Required:
  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
  • Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
  • 4+ years of directly applicable experience (e.g., legal service, product delivery, change management, customer success, adoption strategy execution). Senior candidates considered with 5+ years experience.
  • Demonstrated success driving adoption of legal technology or analogous enterprise tools in a complex environment
  • Advanced knowledge of iworkflows and core needs of practicing lawyers

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Advanced degree in related disciplines
  • Experience with law firm enterprise and practice-specific technologies, including AI products, contract analysis tools, transaction management products and external research databases

The expected annual pay range for this position with a full-time schedule is $93,000 - $135,000. Senior level candidates may be considered for this position and would be eligible for a higher salary range based on experience. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
