Position Summary
The General Manager leads all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and a positive team culture.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can coach managers, develop future leaders, drive community engagement (Spirit Nights, fundraisers, local events), and maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience
  • Deliver outstanding hospitality every shift
  • Ensure restaurant cleanliness, food quality, and service standards
  • Maintain strong product knowledge (yes, pancakes and pies included!)
  • Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally

Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, train, and coach managers and team members
  • Build depth charts and succession plans
  • Conduct performance reviews and leadership development plans
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture

Operations & Financial Management
  • Manage labor, food cost, and controllable expenses
  • Drive sales through local marketing and community partnerships
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, HR, and brand standards
  • Maintain accurate reporting and operational metrics

Community Engagement
  • Lead Spirit Nights, school partnerships, and fundraising events
  • Represent Village Inn in the local community
  • Build relationships with guests, vendors, and neighbors

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years restaurant management experience (GM or Assistant GM preferred)
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
