Job Description

Shift: Night
Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; 2/2/3 schedule
Shift Premium: $1.00
Pay rate: $20.00/hr (Negotiable depending on experience)

Sealed Air is seeking a detail-oriented Ink Room Operator to support industrial printing operations through accurate ink formulation, color matching, adhesive preparation, and quality control.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in manufacturing, printing, quality inspection, or technical operations who are interested in developing specialized skills in packaging production.
This role includes two breaks and paid lunch. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense, mix, and match inks to meet color and quality standards
  • Maintain delta color accuracy and batch consistency
  • Enter and retrieve ink formulas using color-matching software
  • Inspect ink batches prior to production use
  • Prepare and pump adhesives following safety procedures
  • Support maintenance and process troubleshooting
  • Follow daily production schedules and prioritize workflow
  • Complete shift turnover and production documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform manual handling and lift materials up to 40 lbs
  • Follow PPE, chemical handling, and safety protocols

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Requires basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to pass a hue and color vision assessment.
  • Able to work without close supervision and instruct others as necessary.
  • Able to follow instructions and make decisions based on data obtained.
  • Drive a forklift (with training)
  • Utilize fine manipulation skills (including but not limited to the use of a utility knife, scissors, tape measure, typing, writing, and hand tools)
  • Must be able to distinguish colors for product quality purposes
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and
  •  management at all levels
  • Computer knowledge and 1-2 years of Windows applications experience preferred.
  • Work overtime and weekends as scheduled

Equipment & Tools Used

  • Ink dispensing and mixing systems
  • Color matching and measurement tools
  • Forklifts and material handling equipment (training provided)
  • Loupe, dyne pens, hand tools, cutters, hoists
  • Computer-based documentation systems

Physical & Work Environment

  • Extended shifts in a manufacturing environment (up to 12 hours)
  • Standing, bending, reaching, and climbing
  • Repetitive movements and manual handling
  • Exposure to inks, solvents, and adhesives (PPE provided)
Qualifications

Required:

  • 1+ year of experience in manufacturing, printing, or industrial operations (preferred)
  • Ability to pass color vision and hue assessments
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends
  • Commitment to workplace safety

Preferred:

  • Industrial ink formulation or dispensing
  • Flexographic or packaging printing
  • Color matching and spectrophotometry
  • Quality control or SPC
  • Chemical handling experience
  • Forklift operation
