Job Description
THIS POSITION HAS FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION SUMMARY
The Mold Tech will report to the Shift Supervisor any special instructions to ensure production is operating and quality standards are being maintained. The Mold Tech will lead by example and will perform supervisory tasks such as designating Packer / Handlers and other team members to proper locations to meet production schedules. In performing these responsibilities, associates are to work safety, efficiently, and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement. The Mold Tech works with the Shift Supervisor to operate, troubleshoot, document, and communicate on all equipment that is not performing within specifications.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules
2. Must have a technical understanding of process and raw materials used.
3. Keep supervisor/management informed of all problems.
4. Start up machines and monitor quality at start up.
5. Make appropriate adjustments to machines to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriately.
6. Respond to QA Techs by adjusting machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standards.
7. Oversee proper packaging procedures
8. Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands
9. Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems.
10. Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures
11. Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions
12. Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers
13. Be able to do the packer/handler job to assist with relief breaks
14. Assist with Material Handling
15. Keep the floor stocked with materials required for production (fitments/handles/labels/tape, etc....)
16. Maintain a safe working environment
17. Responsible for ensuring quality and housekeeping standards are maintained.
