Maintenance Manager – Injection Molding

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 p/y

Position Overview

A growing plastics manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across multiple production facilities.

This role will focus on equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, team development, and reducing unplanned downtime across injection molding machines, robotics, automation, auxiliary equipment, and facility systems.

The ideal candidate is a strong maintenance leader who is still comfortable being technically involved on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance operations across two manufacturing facilities.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Support troubleshooting of injection molding machines, robotics, automation, auxiliary equipment, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce downtime.
  • Manage maintenance scheduling, work orders, spare parts, and critical equipment needs.
  • Track maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities to improve uptime and PM effectiveness.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality on equipment and process improvements.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and facility projects.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership, supervision, or team-lead experience.
  • Direct experience maintaining plastic injection molding equipment.
  • Experience with injection molding auxiliary equipment and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting knowledge across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with industrial robotics and PLC-controlled equipment strongly preferred.
  • Associate degree, technical/trade-school education, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple maintenance priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Comfortable working hands-on on the manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to travel between local facilities.
  • Must be available for occasional weekends and overtime as production needs require.
