Infusion Center Registered Nurse โ Part Time
Classification FSLA: Non-exempt, hourly
Summary/objective: We are a comprehensive neurology practice looking for a registered nurse to administer intravenous and subcutaneous infusion therapies.
Job Type/Expected Hours:
โขPart-time; in-office
โข2-3 days per week, Monday-Friday, with flexibility on day rotation
โขHours of work are 07:00-15:00
Location: Roseville, MI
Salary Grade/Level/Range: $34-$36 hourly. Based on experience, longevity, certification, within company pay structure
Reports to: Satellite Clinical Infusion Manager
Responsibilities Include:
โขApplies the nursing process during all interactions with patients and completes assessment interviews prior to each infusion treatment
โขUnder supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the registered nurse implements plan of care for patients and communicates patient outcomes to healthcare team as needed
โขAbility to start peripheral IVs and access ports for treatment therapies
โขInfusion therapies: Tysabri, Ocrevus, Briumvi, IVIG, Lemtrada, Rituxan, Solumedrol, Vyepti, Vyvgart, Vyvgart Hytrulo, Rystiggo, Ultomiris, Uplizna, Kisunla, Leqembi, and headache treatments.
โขAbility to learn and administer new infusion therapies.
โขMonitor for infusion related reactions per protocol and medicate as needed with appropriate orders
โขHelps coordinate and schedule needed follow up care appointments per infusion specific protocols
โขDelegate appropriate tasks to support staff
โขMaintains ongoing knowledge in area of clinical practice and industry trends in infusion therapy
โขParticipates in department-based learning activities and unit meetings
โขHelps maintain infusion center supplies and stocking with entire infusion team staff
โขMaintain HIPAA compliance regarding patient information, testing, prescriptions, medical information, and documentation
โขDocuments patient care and infusion procedure utilizing Greenway system
โขProvide quality care during the infusion treatment such as ambulation assistance, blankets, water, snacks, transfer assistance to provide a good patient experience to every patient
โขProficiency with communication skills includes reading, writing, active listening skills
โขEducate patients and family regarding newly prescribed infusion therapies as needed
Qualifications:
โขAbility to work in a team-oriented environment
โขAbility to work in a fast-paced infusion center
โขCritical thinking and problem-solving skills required
โขFlexibility in working start and end times to accommodate patients' needs
โขEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; bachelor's degree preferred.
โขWork experience: At least 2-3 years of nursing experience. Previous infusion experience preferred.
โขActive nursing license in State of Michigan
โขCurrent BLS certification; ACLS will be obtained within 6 months of hire
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Assist patients with walking, standing, or transferring from wheelchair to infusion center chair. Cleaning restocking infusion center, cabinets, and shelves.
Travel: Potential to travel to satellite offices.
