Role Overview:

An experienced Infrastructure Engineer / Technical Specialist with 8+ years of experience in supporting, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise IT infrastructure environments. Strong hands-on expertise across compute, storage, networking, hosting services, security, and cloud platforms, with the ability to contribute to infrastructure improvements, maintain operational stability, and support scalable and secure IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture:

  • Support the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise IT infrastructure across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Analyze technical requirements and contribute to stable, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions under the guidance of senior architects or leads.
  • Ensure infrastructure changes follow organizational standards, operational procedures, and compliance requirements.

Infrastructure Support & Improvement:

  • Monitor infrastructure performance, identify improvement areas, and recommend practical enhancements to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Assist in infrastructure upgrade, migration, and modernization activities based on defined project plans and technical guidelines.
  • Prepare technical documentation, implementation notes, and operational handover details for infrastructure changes.

Capacity Planning & Resilience:

  • Perform capacity planning for compute, storage, network, and cloud resources to support enterprise workloads efficiently.
  • Support backup, data retention, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) activities as per defined standards and runbooks.
  • Participate in DR drills, failover testing, and infrastructure validation activities.

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure:

  • Support and administer cloud-based infrastructure services on platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, focusing on availability, security, and cost awareness.
  • Work with IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud environments for provisioning, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Assist in cloud migration and infrastructure transition activities, including assessment inputs, build support, testing, and post-migration validation.
  • Use automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or equivalent technologies for standard operational tasks.

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement and follow IT infrastructure security policies and procedures across supported environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure operations comply with security, access control, patching, and vulnerability management requirements.
  • Coordinate with security teams to address findings, remediate risks, and maintain a secure infrastructure posture.

Operational Excellence & Technical Support:

  • Support cost-effective infrastructure operations by identifying right-sizing, utilization, and standardization opportunities.
  • Contribute to infrastructure optimization initiatives, including automation, monitoring improvements, and operational process enhancements.
  • Provide L3 technical support for complex infrastructure incidents, service requests, problem investigations, and change activities.

Database & Data Platform Expertise:

  • Provide support and technical coordination for Relational, NoSQL, and Big Data platforms, including:
    • Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
    • Hadoop, Spark, and other open-source big data technologies
  • Support data platform availability, performance monitoring, backup coordination, and access/security compliance.
