Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid - Must be local to Metro Atlanta)
Duration: Contract 1 to 2 Years

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Infrastructure Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize core enterprise database environments for the State of Georgia. In this role, you will serve as the guardian of the data ecosystem, focusing heavily on automation, scheduling, infrastructure scaling, and system management. You will leverage advanced scripting to automate maintenance, monitor system health, and orchestrate complex database workflows to ensure maximum uptime and peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Management: Design, configure, provision, and manage hardware/software configurations, Azure Cloud services, and Windows Servers. Ensure strict compliance with data governance and state data privacy regulations.
  • Automation & Scripting: Write and maintain robust scripts (SSIS, PowerShell, etc.) to automate routine DBA tasks, deployments, backups, health checks, and ETL workflows.
  • Performance Tuning: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize queries, and manage indexing strategies. Resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues.
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Maintain and test robust DR strategies and failover protocols. Provide 24/7 support for mission-critical systems as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support application development and data integration through application environment configuration, IIS administration, and the implementation of security best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Enterprise Systems (7+ Years): Strong expertise in managing enterprise environments including MS SQL Server, Windows Server, and Azure Cloud.
  • Scripting & Automation (7+ Years): Advanced proficiency in PowerShell and SSIS.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure (7+ Years): Solid understanding of storage systems, network architecture, and cloud infrastructure (specifically Azure).
  • Microsoft Power Platform (7+ Years): Hands-on experience with PowerApps, Power BI Services, and Power Automate.
