Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Program Manager to join our program supporting the biomedical research community for our customer with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at the National Institutes of Health.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the overall execution of NHLBI IT support services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objective
  • Supervises and mentor teams of IT professionals, project managers, engineers and architects to foster technical excellence and operational readiness.
  • Oversees the operations of the Service Desk, Configuration Management, and Infrastructure Operations
  • Managing and operating an IT infrastructure (on prem and multi cloud infrastructure) for a premier biomedical research organization serving both the intramural and extramural research communities
  • Implements project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, SAFe) to ensure efficient project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closeout.
  • Maintains and regularly updates a searchable library of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all tasks
  • Ensures timely delivery and high standards of quality for all deliverables
  • Recommends process improvements
  • Facilitates regular communication and reporting on program status, risks, and issues to ITAC, OM, and NHLBI leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least five years of experience managing a comprehensive IT services contract for a Federal organization of at least 2000 users, including Service Desk, Infrastructure Operations, Configuration Management, and Cybersecurity.
  • Proven ability to drive service improvements
  • 5+ years experience applying ITIL, PMP, and Agile frameworks.
  • Will have track record of effective leadership and communication with Federal stakeholders.
  • Experience managing federal contracts
  • Experience working in a biomedical research, or healthcare setting.

The likely salary range for this position is $173,400 - $234,600. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
