Sr. Infrastructure Project Manager - Part Time

Richmond VA
 
Candidates MUST HAVE VITA PM certification AND previous VA state experience
This position is for the planning and implementation of the IT infrastructure and the Departmental Move at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.
The Project Manager should adhere to the Commonwealth laws, executive orders, policies, standards and guidelines which establish the Project management environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage project development from execution to closure.
Develop and prepare detailed planning documents in accordance with the Commonwealth's Project Management Standard.
Point of contact for all day-to-day project operations.
Complete work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task.
Provide a project schedule to identify when each task will be performed and master schedule to link subprojects
Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders.
Conduct project team meetings
Micro-manage tasks of project team and vendors
Consolidate project team status reports for executive stakeholders
Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout project life cycle.
Effectively manage project scope, schedule and budget by ensuring changes to scope are documented and approved through the change management process.
Track and report on project milestones and provide internal status reports in addition to Commonwealth of Virginia status report as identified in the planning process.
Coordinate Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) reviews for project performance.
Determine how results will be measured and complete a post project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved.
Conduct monthly Internal Agency Oversight Committee (IAOC) meetings.
Maintain/update risk register.
Work with project sponsor and stakeholders to complete the project closeout report.
Document lessons learned.
Job Requirements:
11-14 years' work experience in IT project management and/or IT management.
Must have successfully performed as a Project Manager for at least one project with a total cost over $2,000,000.
Has previous experience successfully completing a project pursuant to the Commonwealth's Project Management Standard.
PMP certification or qualified as a Commonwealth IT Project Manager with a completed Project Manager Qualification Record is required.
Familiarity with project management tools( Microsoft Project) and/or software packages.
Experience working in team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Experience with the Commonwealth Technology Portfolio (CTP) tool is highly preferred.
Qualifications
VITA Project Manager certifications Required 10 Years
Experience utilizing robust project management software such as MS Project Required 10 Years
Experience working for the Commonwealth of Virginia Highly Desired 10 Years

Qualifications
