Job description

The Opportunity

The ITOT Infrastructure position offers a unique opportunity to shape the information and technology solutions in alignment with Pharma Manufacturing. Reporting to the ITOT System Operations and Infrastructure Lead, you will be a member of the ITOT Manufacturing Network and deliver Globally harmonized IT and OT solutions for the global PT network.


As IT OT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the local Manufacturing Infrastructure and act as the key contact for the Global IT Teams delivering and operating the Global Infrastructure. In partnering with the site your focus is always on Manufacturing Production Make Assess Release (MAR) in alignment with site priorities as well as demand originating from Projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage ITOT Infrastructure for Manufacturing System Platforms including IMS, MES , DCS, SCADA and other Control Systems.

  • Site ITOT Infrastructure Support Coordinator with Global Infrastructure solutions at site (e.g. support of Active Directory and firewall policies to allow proper access and communication).

  • Lead and/or provide support for the evaluation, installation, and maintenance of Manufacturing infrastructure including installation and upgrade of control systems hardware, software, control networks, user administration, database administration, security, system monitoring, backup and recovery of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems and SQL Databases.

  • Implement Robust Disaster Recovery Solutions.

  • Lead and/or support implementation of ITOT infrastructure standards and best practices across all Site ITOT and Process Automation platforms, working with other process automation engineers, IT and OT professionals.

  • Support commissioning and startup activity of new process control systems and manufacturing systems (Syncade (will be replaced with PharmaSuite) , DeltaV, OSI PI historian, etc).

  • Be the go to Infrastructure expert at the site who bridges the gap between Automation and underlying Storage Compute and Network infrastructure.

  • Execute control system virtualization administration, user administration, system monitoring, capacity planning, design, installation, configuration, and upgrade of platform.

  • Execute computer system validation and control system lifecycle management.

  • Support the integration of Edge Computing and IIoT gateways to facilitate real-time data flow to the OSI PI Historian and cloud-based analytics.

  • Partner with the Cyber Security Engineer to implement Zero Trust architectures and robust security measures.

  • Support data backup, recovery management, and disaster recovery plans and exercise on manufacturing infrastructure.

  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve ServiceNow Trouble Ticket Incident, Requests, and Problems associated with manufacturing infrastructure.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of 7 years systems engineer experience involved in the design, implementation, and/or support of automation systems, preferably in a regulated (Pharmaceutical) industry.

  • 24X7 environment, participate in an on-call environment to meet business continuity requirements, including weekends and holidays as required.

  • Strong understanding and experience working with OT Manufacturing Infrastructure, security management, Automation Control Systems, and data backup technologies.

  • Experience working in a change control environment, computer systems validation, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) documentation.

  • Experience with various Operating Systems, Storage, Backup, Application and Infrastructure Monitoring, Virtualization, LAN/WAN, Firewalls, RDBMS, Client-server and terminal virtualization as a System Administrator.

  • Advanced expertise in VMware or Nutanix for managing virtualized control system workloads.

  • Experience with Composable Infrastructure, Next Gen Antivirus EDR/XDR technologies, and Composable Infrastructure.

  • Experience with High Availability (HA) Failover Clustering and Redundancy.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server installation, troubleshooting, and tuning.

  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and group policy configuration.

  • Familiarity with Orchestration tools like Terraform, Ansible or puppet for automated infrastructure provisioning is a plus.

  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Specialist certification, Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) is a plus.

  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong analytical skills for effective troubleshooting and problem solving.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $95,200 - $176,800. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
