PMA Consultants is seeking a Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects and programs for major clients in Southeast Michigan. The Project Manager will independently manage small-to-medium construction projects or portions of larger programs, overseeing planning, scheduling, budgeting, construction execution, and stakeholder coordination from project development through closeout.

Working on the client's behalf, this role serves as a key liaison among owners, contractors, design consultants, vendors, and internal teams. The Project Manager will provide day-to-day project leadership, monitor cost and schedule performance, support contract administration, identify and mitigate risks, and provide site oversight and QA/QC observations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and representing the client's interests throughout the project lifecycle.

Organizational Responsibilities
        • Direct day-to-day project planning, construction execution, and delivery to meet design, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
        • Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, resources, milestones, and project governance processes.
        • Manage and coordinate design and construction delivery teams on the client's behalf.
        • Review and validate contractor and design-consultant schedules, budgets, submittals, and technical progress against project requirements and client objectives.
        • Provide day-to-day site oversight and QA/QC observations during construction and closeout.
        • Coordinate architect, engineer, contractor, and consultant responses to field conditions and project issues.
        • Monitor project milestones, changes, technical progress, and financial performance; develop and implement recovery plans when necessary.
        • Identify project risks, track performance metrics, and recommend mitigation strategies and process improvements.
        • Serve as a primary point of contact for owners, contractors, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders, resolving conflicts and keeping project objectives aligned.
        • Lead project meetings and facilitate effective communication across project teams.
        • Support contract administration, procurement activities, vendor coordination, and change-order review.
        • Assist with the development and review of procurement documents, construction specifications, submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation.
        • Mentor and provide oversight to junior staff while supporting their professional development.
        • Interface regularly with internal departments and external clients to ensure high-quality service delivery.
        • Establish and maintain effective project management processes, tools, documentation, and reporting.
        • Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deliverables; weekend work is rare but may occasionally be necessary.
        •
        • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications

        • 7+ years of relevant experience in construction or project management.
        • Water/wastewater infrastructure experience preferred; candidates with strong experience managing complex building, process, industrial, civil infrastructure, or similar construction projects will also be considered.
        • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, including owners/clients, contractors, design consultants, engineers, and vendors.
        • Experience in an owner's-representative or client-side project management role preferred.
        • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects or priorities.
        • Familiarity with construction documentation, submittals, RFIs, change orders, procurement processes, and contract administration.
        • Proficiency with project management software; hands-on experience with Primavera P6 is preferred.
        • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
        • Ability to lead meetings, facilitate team discussions, and present project information and deliverables.
        • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
        • Ability and willingness to maintain an on-site presence several days per week, depending on project phase.
