Job description

Role: X86 Compute Infrastructure Engineer
Duration: 12+ months
Location: Omaha, NE  (Hybrid)
 
Job Description:
An x86 Hardware Support Engineer diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs x86-based server and workstation hardware (CPUs, memory, motherboards) to ensure system reliability. Responsibilities include conducting root cause analysis, performing firmware updates, managing installations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.  Leads complex projects and issues within functional technical areas and cross functional area Works independently with IT functional units and business units. Recommend strategies for technical aspects of projects as well as broad system improvements, with a focus on X86 Infrastructure.  Performs additional job duties as required.
 
Candidate Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge managing X86 Infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of Dell and other enterprise x86 platforms.
  • Deep experience X86 server hardware, and installation
  • Strong knowledge VMware integration, hardware diagnostics, lifecycle management tools.
  • Automation Skills using Ansible and other scripting.
  • Understands complex technical requirements, service impact, and business issues facing internal and external clients.
  • 5+ years related server administration experience
  • Candidate must collaborate well in a team-oriented environment
  • Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Deep understanding of all computer system layers
  • Proven analytical skills in previous technical roles
 
Prefered Qulaifications:
 
  • 8+ yrs. of related technical experience.
  • Experience in Dell Server systems
  • Experience with Dell OpenMange
  • Experience in Ansible automation
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of system life cycle
