About the role

We're looking for a curious and driven engineering intern to join our team and help modernize and support our enterprise legacy applications. You'll work hands-on with Java based applications while leveraging AI tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance the user experience of established systems

Requirements

  • Support development, maintenance, and enhancement of legacy Java applications
  • Utilize AI tools and assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate debugging, refactoring, and feature development
  • Identify opportunities where AI can improve existing workflows, UI components, or backend logic within legacy systems
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze, document, and resolve bugs and technical issues
  • Write clean, well-documented code and assist with testing and quality assurance
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions with the broader engineering team

Qualifications

  1. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, and eligible for a co-op/internship placement
  2. Preferred Areas of Expertise: AI/Machine Learning, Java Development, and Python Programming
  3. Clear communication, ownership, attention to detail, and ability to work across teams.
  4. Must be available full time from Monday to Friday for a duration of either 4 months, 8 months or 12 months without any break.
