Infrastructure Architect, VP
Location: NYC or Boston
Duration: Fulltime Permanent

Qualifications

Description:
As Infrastructure Architect responsible for configuring and provisioning infrastructure resources to run workloads within a cloud environment. He / she needs to have experience integrating multiple IT infrastructural components in order to support solutions to business problems. The role requires close collaboration with software developers so as to understand their needs. An infrastructure architect is also responsible for maintaining the currency of the existing infrastructure through analysis of various parameters. Candidate can sit in Boston or New York Office.
Responsibilities:
Interact with scrum masters to understand project requirements and user stories and translate them into architectural blueprints
Architect infrastructure components (e.g., compute, storage, databases, etc.) to run workloads within a public cloud environment
Analyze and optimize existing deployed infrastructure based on cost, performance, etc.
Perform routine reviews of configurations, application ecosystems and third party connectivity
Make recommendations to help optimize spend, performance and architectural flexibility
Perform short-term and long-term infrastructure capacity planning
Evaluate emerging technologies and tools
Develop and maintain technical domain roadmaps pertinent to public cloud capabilities
Requirments:
Prior experience with configuring and provisioning infrastructure in a cloud for application deployment
Familiarity with cloud native (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, GCP Deployment Manager, etc.) and third party tools (e.g., Chef, Spinnaker, etc.)
Knowledge of systems management software, storage systems and database technologies
Experience ewith systems integration and service oriented architecture model
Experience integrating multiple elements of IT architecture in support of solutions to business problems
Architectural understanding of top cloud providers (i.e., AWS, GCP and Azure)
Ability to conceive infrastructure solutions from elaboration of requirements
Ability to assess the performance of existing infrastructure deployments and recommend improvements
Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them
Ability to collaborate with software developers and understand their needs
General knowledge of agile software development concepts and processes
5+ yrs related experience
BA computer related field
