Job description

Velocity is a fast-paced company with an open-door environment looking to add Field Technicians to join our team. We offer unique solutions to our clients addressing their specific needs today, while preparing them for tomorrow. Technology is evolving at an ever-increasing rate, so we are searching for qualified candidates in your area to help manage work being completed. Field Technicians work directly with Velocity support groups and customer locations to ensure job sites are completed to customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for the management and completion of installation, cabling, equipment maintenance, and resources at customer locations. This position is based out of your local area with an expectation of 95% travel (By car, plane, etc.).

  • Are comfortable utilizing remote support
  • Can terminate/install/trace various forms of cable such as Cat5, Cat6, Coax, and other forms of cabling
  • Are self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment to complete assigned tasks within the given time

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install/service equipment at customer locations across US
  • Able to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules
  • Ensure the job site operates to Velocity and customer standards
  • Effectively and professionally communicate and interact with internal and external customers such as the status of the work order or other important information
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose managed devices
  • Repair, maintain, and install telecommunications infrastructure
  • Responsible for managing helper technicians and ensuring they follow all established processes
  • Display professional presentation at all times at customer sites
  • Complete and maintain administrative tasks/paperwork such as timesheets and expense reports
  • Complete additional tasks as required

Qualifications, Experience and Education:
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years steady work experience
  • Able to obtain certifications required for aerial lifts
  • Must have valid drivers license and able to be insured
  • Able to repetitively push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds independently
  • Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Minimum of 2 years experience customer service preferred
  • Willingness to travel 95% up to and including consecutive overnight stays

Preferred candidates will have the following experience and education:
  • 2 years in installation, field services or similar background
  • Minimum 1-year low voltage experience
