As a Technology Lead, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end software development initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering scalable, high-performance applications. You will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, design system architecture, and guide teams through technical challenges to ensure successful project delivery. You will provide technical leadership, mentor developers, and drive best practices across the software development lifecycle while supporting critical business applications within the insurance domain.
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively by telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
  • Lead all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support
  • Design and maintain high-level and low-level application architectures to support scalable and efficient solutions
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentoring to development teams
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality code and project deliverables across multiple modules and workstreams
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, production incidents, and performance bottlenecks
  • Guide team members on coding standards, design best practices, performance optimization, and secure software development practices
  • Support project implementation, deployment, hypercare, and warranty phases to ensure successful business outcomes
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and leadership to drive project success and continuous improvement initiatives

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant experience as described in the job responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in Java, JEE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and SOAP-based Web Services
  • Experience with front-end technologies including JSP, JSTL, JavaScript, jQuery, and Ajax for developing responsive user interfaces
  • Hands-on experience with Hibernate and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, including the application of common design patterns
  • Strong experience with MS SQL, including complex queries, joins, indexing, stored procedures, views, and database performance optimization
  • Experience working with SOAP-based Web Services and tools such as JAX-WS and Apache CXF
  • Ability to design and articulate scalable system architectures, including microservices and layered architecture
  • Hands-on experience with development and DevOps tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Jenkins, and Git for testing and CI/CD processes
  • Experience identifying and remediating application and server security vulnerabilities
  • Proven experience leading technical teams, mentoring developers, and managing technical deliveries
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and independent decision-making capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear documentation and client communications
  • Ability to effectively engage with onsite teams, business stakeholders, and clients to drive outcomes and project progress
  • Experience working in Agile and fast-paced delivery environments
  • Experience in team management and client relationship management
  • Prior experience supporting Insurance or Financial Services applications is preferred
