InfoSec - Technical Design
Duration: At least until end of year - will get extended past that
Location: Dorchester, MA (remote now due to COVID
This role will provide Technical Design leadership to a portfolio of Information Security initiatives that support multiple banking platforms. The position resides within the Cyber Security organization and will have responsibility for creating technical designs for technology aligned deliverables.
Technical Design resource will be responsible for driving the creation of the technical design of new capabilities and strategic change for Information Security in SHUSA. He/she has demonstrated experience in developing detailed technical design specification of complex technology initiatives in the banking industry. He/she will work closely with Architecture and Engineering teams to deliver technical design to enhance global Information Security capabilities. This position will work closely with teams based in the New York, New Jersey, Boston, Dallas, and Spain.
Key responsibilities include:
• Review business requirements and solution design documents and turn them into efficient technical design documents
• Develop and maintain design artifacts (e.g., models, templates, standards and procedures) that can be used to leverage capabilities in projects and operations
• Determine baseline security configuration standards for operating systems (e.g., OS hardening), network segmentation, and identity and access management (IAM)
• Partner with various Infrastructure and IT related team to implement technical design and provide support to these teams during implementation
• Represent Information Security technology in various architecture forums and address technical considerations raised during technical design process
• Partner with Infrastructure and IT related teams on Information Security projects
• Develop or update technical workflows and diagrams
• Work with vendors to understand new Information Security products and technologies
• Assist with data mining and data analysis and research during requirements phase
• Understand a companys technology and information systems
• Other responsibilities include support project managers with analyst and technical request from Architecture and Engineering.
• Responsible for contributions beyond typical Technical Design role, including supporting Project Management, BA, QA and Developer activities
The position based in Dorchester, MA, and requires periodic travel to other US locations (remote now due to COVID)
Knowledge & Skills Requirements
• BA/BS IT/ Computer Science, or a related discipline
• 15+ years professional experience in a bank or other financial institution, consulting firm, and/ or software company
• 7 to 10 years in technical design experience supporting complex Security projects
• 5+ years experience in Information Security banking, a plus
• Direct, hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of managing security infrastructure - e.g., firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPSs), web application firewalls (WAFs), endpoint protection, SIEM and log management technology
• Verifiable experience reviewing application code
• Direct, hands-on experience or a strong working knowledge of vulnerability management and security tools (Crowdstrike, Deep Security, ATA, WAF, etc)
• Full-stack knowledge of IT infrastructure:
o Applications
o Databases
o Operating systems - Windows, Unix and Linux
o Hypervisors
o IP networks - WAN and LAN
o Storage networks - Fiber Channel, iSCSI and NAS
o Backup networks and media
• Direct experience designing IAM technologies and services:
o Active Directory
o Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
• Experience with Agile or Waterfall project methodologies
• Experience with large scale data mining and data repositories such as Splunk
• Familiar with business intelligence tools such as Tableau
• Demonstrated proficiency in write technical or functional design documents
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Database Management or Business Intelligence
• Exhibits high degree of creativity, self-motivation, and commitment to task
• Power user of office automation and project management tools including MS Powerpoint, MS Project, and Visio
• Experience in leading several complex system projects
• Expertise in technical design discipline and techniques
• Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and interact with all levels
• Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work
