IT Coordinator Job Description


Pay Range: $26.44 – $32.63, non-exempt position

Schedule: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)

Hours & Location:

Monday – Friday 9:00AM – 5:00PM,

Home Office – Clark Center: 2740 SE Powell Blvd Suite 3 Portland, OR 97202

This is an on-site position with occasional travel within Multnomah, Washington, & Clackamas Counties. Some opportunities for remote work.

Title: IT Coordinator

Reports To: IT Manager

Job Summary

The full-time IT Support Coordinator is responsible for facilitating technology support and implementation for The Peer Company. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining the organization’s workplace technology, providing technical support to The Peer Company Staff. The IT Support Coordinator also assists the IT Manager in employee onboarding/offboarding as well as network and user directory facilitation.


The IT Coordinator is a member of the Administration department. The Administration department supports the daily operations of The Peer Company across multiple sites. This department works closely with all other departments and programs and plays a critical role in planning large events, such as Peerpocalypse, the annual peer support conference hosted by The Peer Company.


Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Information Technology or similar field preferred.


Background Check: A criminal background check will be conducted by TPC in accordance with the TPC background check policy. A criminal record does not necessarily exclude an individual from employment with TPC.


Pre-Hire Drug Screen: As part of TPC's commitment to fostering a safe, productive, and professional workplace, we require pre-hire drug screenings for all potential employees. The screening will be conducted in accordance with TPC's drug screening policy and applicable state and federal laws.


Motor Vehicle Records Search: For positions that require driving, The Peer Company conducts a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) search in accordance with company policy, insurance requirements, and applicable state and federal laws. 

To be eligible for a driving-required position, candidates must meet the following minimum driving standards:  

  • No major driving violations within the past 3 years (i.e. - DUI, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, etc.)   
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years (i.e. - speeding, failing to yield, running red light, etc.)  

Experience:

  • Associate's degree with1-3 years of technical experience OR high school diploma (or equivalent) and 3-5 years of technical experience
  • Experience with substance use and/or mental health recovery is desirable and highly valued
  • Understands the principles of trauma-informed care, recovery, and consumer-involvement
  • High proficiency with PC systems, tools and applications including assembly, troubleshooting, installation, and oversight of Microsoft 365 applications required
  • Experience in supporting cloud technology infrastructure environment (Microsoft 365, Google Workplace) 
  • Experience in collaborating with community partners to identify shortcomings in the organization and in building partnerships to improve outcomes

Licensure/Certification:  

  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance required Access to reliable personal vehicle required

  • Excellent communication, trauma informed approach and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to always maintain high professional standards with staff and community partners while demonstrating exemplary customer support skills and response
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing impeccable customer service

  • Experience with advanced audio/video conferencing preferred

  • Ability to push/pull/lift/carry items up to 25 pounds and occasionally push/pull/lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

Essential Functions:

  • Installs hardware and peripheral components such as phones, monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives for workstations in the office
  • Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications
  • Provides telephone, in-person and online support to end-users in a timely fashion through helpdesk application
  • Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications
  • Provides updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users for help requests and projects
  • Sets up new hires with necessary equipment and creates user profiles in all applicable IT systems
  • Assists IT Manager in developing and implementing IT policies and procedures based on industry best practices
  • Provides technology support to Peerpocalypse annual conference 
  • Abides by organization policies and procedures, confidentiality laws, professional boundaries and relevant federal/state treatment regulations and standards  
  • Facilitate, document, and audit organization-wide mobile services
  • Occasional travel for work meetings and projects as needed
  • Assists with other administrative projects and relevant duties as assigned
