Position Title: ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst / IT Analyst
Location: Vienna, VA (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite)

Pay Rate: $55.00 - $58.00/hour (W2)
Position Description
Seneca Resources is seeking a ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst to support a leading enterprise organization's Asset Management team. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) who are passionate about software licensing, compliance, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
In this role, you will help manage the complete software asset lifecycle while leveraging ServiceNow SAM and Performance Analytics to improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and license optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure software compliance, maximize license utilization, and support strategic asset management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain Software Asset Management (SAM) processes within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Administer software products, software models, entitlements, and software license inventories.
  • Support software contract management, renewals, and vendor compliance initiatives.
  • Monitor software usage and identify opportunities for license reclamation and optimization.
  • Track software lifecycle activities, including End-of-Life (EOL) planning and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain ServiceNow Performance Analytics dashboards, KPIs, executive reports, and trend analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational workflows.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of software asset data.
  • Collaborate with IT, procurement, finance, and business stakeholders to improve SAM processes and reporting.
  • Analyze software usage trends and provide recommendations that reduce cost and improve compliance.
Required Skills/Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Hands-on experience with the ServiceNow platform, including Software Asset Management (SAM) capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Software Products & Models
    • Software Entitlements
    • Software License Management
    • Software Contracts & Renewals
    • License Reclamation & Optimization
    • End-of-Life (EOL) Management
  • Experience building ServiceNow Performance Analytics dashboards, reports, KPIs, and executive metrics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience identifying automation opportunities and improving operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Software Asset Management (SAM) Professional.
  • Knowledge of software licensing compliance and vendor management best practices.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale IT asset management environments.
