Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Associate Director, Data Architecture & Platforms to lead the evolution of our firm’s data ecosystem. This role is central to modernizing our data infrastructure, enabling scalable analytics, and driving enterprise-wide data integration.


The Associate Director, Data Architecture & Platforms will lead the Firm’s data engineering, integration strategy, cloud data migration, and reporting capabilities. This role is critical to modernizing the Firm’s data ecosystem—driving the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-based data platforms while ensuring seamless integration across enterprise systems.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Architecture & Integration

  • Leads the architecture, development, and implementation of enterprise data lakehouse, ensuring reliable and high-quality data flows across systems;
  • Works closely with various departments around the firm to establish and enforce a centralized data dictionary, including clear data definitions, ownership, lineage, and quality standards across integrated systems;
  • Establishes and enforces integration standards, frameworks, and best practices across hybrid (on-premise and cloud) environments;
  • Oversees data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration using modern tools within the Microsoft ecosystem;
  • Manages relationships with technology vendors and strategic partners and collaborates across firm departments to align priorities and drive delivery;
  • Defines and executes the firm’s cloud data migration strategy, including prioritization of workloads and delivery of a structured Azure migration roadmap;
  • Assesses current infrastructure and design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architecture aligned to business objectives;
  • Ensures compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements;
  • Builds, mentors, and leads a team of data engineers and BI developers.


Reporting & Analytics

  • Oversees the delivery of enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities, ensuring timely access to accurate and actionable insights;
  • Partners with various departments to enable scalable self-service reporting and dashboarding solutions;
  • Sets and enforces enterprise standards for reporting—performance, scalability, and governance—so leadership can trust the platform at scale; and
  • Performs additional duties, as assigned.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field;
  • 10+ years of experience in data, engineering, or technology roles, including at least 3–5 years in a team leadership capacity;
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale data integration and cloud migration programs, ideally within Microsoft Azure;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabrick or Databricks, Power BI or similar tech for analytics, reporting, and semantic models;
  • Good understanding of REST API, JSON, XML, and web services;
  • Strong understanding of SQL and ability to create performance optimized code;
  • Advanced scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell);
  • Demonstrated experience with LLM-enabled workflows and annotation pipelines;
  • Experience working with version control systems and solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines;
  • Strong expertise in data architecture, data modeling, and modern engineering practices;
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and regulatory requirements in enterprise environments;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels;
  • Proven success in building and leading high-performing technical teams;
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage ambiguity;
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in data and technology; and
  • Ability to work additional hours, as needed.


This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $200,000 to $300,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and discretionary bonus(es), we offer a generous employee benefits package including, but not limited to, paid time off, medical, dental, vision care, 401(k) and substantial health club discounts.
