SUMMARY

The role of HSE Programmer Manager directly supports the company's mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As the HSE Program Manager, responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing digital tools, software solutions, automations, and data systems that support Health, Safety, and Environmental programs. This role bridges HSE operations with technology by creating applications, dashboards, analytics, and workflow automations that improve compliance, reporting accuracy, and decisionmaking across the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop custom HSE applications, scripts, and digital workflows (e.g., incident reporting, inspection forms, audit tools).
  • Build and maintain automation using platforms like Power Automate, SharePoint, Power Apps, or internal systems.
  • Support HSE databases, ensuring data structure integrity and efficient performance.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and implement improvements.
  • Build dashboards and reports (Power BI, or internal tools) that visualize key HSE metrics (TRIR, LTIFR, near misses, hazard reports, leading indicators).
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
  • Support integration between HSE systems and HR, operations, or contractor platforms (e.g., ISNetworld).
  • Manage user access, permissions, and configuration settings within HSE software tools.
  • Support compliance tracking for OSHA/CSA reporting and environmental requirements.
  • Work with HSE Managers, field teams, and operations to gather requirements for new tools or system enhancements.
  • Participate in the development and rollout of digital training modules.
  • Support major projects by creating digital tools for risk assessments, JSEAs, LOTO libraries, and highrisk task workflows.
  • Ensure HSE digital tools follow IT and cybersecurity protocols.


WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2+ years programming experience or digital system administration
  • Experience working with HSE teams or in industrial safety settings (preferred).
  • Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI
  • Experience with HSE software (Incident Management, Intelex, SAP EHS, etc.)
  • Must possess the ability to think and analyze situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate and manage change, and deliver results.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential, most importantly strong team-building skills within a rapidly growing environment.
  • Must be capable of positively influencing the management team when necessary.
  • Independent, detail-oriented, creative, tenacious, and flexible are essential characteristics.
  • (Not mandatory but highly preferred)
    • Understanding of OSHA/CSA reporting
    • Incident investigation workflows
    • Basic risk management concepts
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver's license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver's abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members.

The pay for this role is exempt at $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 USD salary with up to a 10% bonus.  Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
