Position Title: Research Intern
Office Setting: In Office
Reports To Position Title: Research Manager
FLSA Status: Non Exempt
Department: Corporate Office
Pay Type: Hourly
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Research Intern will gain hands on exposure to clinical research operations while supporting research staff with study coordination activities, data management, regulatory documentation, and operational workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Supports research operations through administrative and project coordination activities.
  • Provides support for ongoing clinical research studies and research related workflows.
  • Supports study startup, recruitment, tracking, and administrative activities as assigned.
  • Follows and enforces UD Research Policies and Procedures.
  • Answers emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and timely completion of assigned research tasks.
  • Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information.
  • Performs any other duties and/or special tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE:
  • Required:
    • High school diploma or GED required. Pursuing Associates or Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Interest in healthcare, clinical research, public health, biology, research informatics, or related field preferred.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Work under pressure; assess, respond to, and communicate issues in a timely manner
    • Exhibit proficiency in detailed data comparison and entry

  • Preferred:
    • Interest in clinical research, healthcare operations, or data management.
    • Ability to manage multiple assignments with strong attention to detail.
    • Experience working with confidential information in a professional setting preferred.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Travel required as business needs dictate.
