Job description

Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a detail-oriented IT System Administrator with Cyber Security experience to support our federal customer in the Washington DC area. The candidate will work with the government customer to support the review and implementations of system security configurations, policies, and procedures for the federal customer's IT Systems. This is a hybrid role with 1 day a week on site or as the customer requires.

*Due to the nature of the work and contract - US Citizenship is required.

*This position requires 1 day/week onsite - candidates not local to the DC area and/or not willing to go onsite 1 day per week will not be considered. 

Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with IT Operations team to properly harden operating systems and applications, specifically with CIS Benchmarks.
  • Reviewing and validating controls in outlined in NIST 800-53 Rev 5, applied via Microsoft GPOs and other methods.
  • Developing SOPs on security configuration processes and procedures.
  • Performing security product reviews of IT products and assisting with Change Management security reviews.
  • Supporting the Network Operations/Firewall teams with security baselines.
  • Tracking ServiceNow status and providing routine progress updates to the team lead and following up with users on the resolution of ticket for completeness/quality and satisfaction.
  • Maintaining an updated Master List of Benchmarks for all enterprise systems and applications.
Qualifications
  • Experience administering and maintaining Windows Servers 2012-2022, Microsoft SQL Database 2016 - 2019, Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Strong understandings of AAA - Authentication, Authorization and Accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with Federal Cybersecurity publications like NIST 800-53, FISMA and NIST Risk Management Framework. Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and/or LDAP management, and configuration, PKI, SSO across multiple domains, MFA.
  • Experience administering Windows 10/11 systems, Office 365/Azure Administration; SharePoint Online Administration, Teams Administration.
  • Some experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, and preferably PowerBI.
  • Related experience and training in troubleshooting computers and software application systems.
  • Experience with configuration and support of Linux, preferred.
  • Experience developing and creating user guidance documentation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Kanban.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and customer service skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree - preferably in Information Technology.
  • Five or more years' work experience as a system administrator or related position.
  • Working knowledge of Cyber Security fundamentals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office & SharePoint.

Salary range:  $80,000 - $100,000
